My Morgan mare, Rose, has been quite difficult to fit with a saddle.  She is extremely broad backed, very round, has a quite prominent right shoulder, essentially no withers, and is just slightly downhill. 

It has taken a year to find a saddle that fit both her and myself but then I had the problem of the saddle slipping, not only forward and backwards depending on the terrain, but also having the saddle twist due to her right shoulder pushing the saddle back.  It was necessary to use a breastcollar and I was just getting ready to add a crupper when my Limpet Saddle Pad arrived. 

Of course I didn't do the sensible thing and try out the new equipment in an arena but headed straight for the hills. I then proceeded to not only forget to put the breastcollar on, I also didn't do that last girth check before mounting.  I have never forgotten a piece of equipment nor have I ever forgotten to check the girth. 

Did any of this matter?  Not in the least.  The Limpet Pad kept the saddle in exactly the same place whether we were going uphill or downhill and despite the fact that the girth was a hole looser on both sides! Problem solved.  Thanks to Aline and the Limpet Saddle Pad.

I wanted to let you know that the Limpet Saddle Pad is everything it is advertised to be!  I just bought mine for my flat backed, big boned and heavily muscled quarter horse, Memphis.  I ride him English.  He and I are a trail riding pair, but I have had the worst time finding a saddle pad that stayed in place and did not rub him and I have tried many.  I truly wish I had tried your product sooner! 

The big test was a long trail ride this past Saturday.  He had no saddle marks on him whatsoever, there was no rubbing and no moving of the saddlepad or saddle.  I did not have to girth him as tight and the ride for me was the most comfortable one I have had on him.  I had back surgery a number of years ago and on the longer rides my lower back can become really achy and painful to the point I always carry something for the pain with me, but not on Saturday.  I actually could have ridden longer!  So I'm very happy with the saddlepad, to say the least, it WORKS!

After buying a new horse and realizing my saddle didn't fit, I bought a Limpet pad and now my saddle fits!!  I did have my saddle adjusted but continue to use my Limpet pad and use it everyday.  It has been washed many times and is still perfect.

I was riding up a mountain in snow when I felt something against my boot.  I looked down and my cinch was broken. I got off and tried to fix it and couldn't.  Then without thinking, I put my boot back into the stirrup and swung up on the horse, before I thought, what am I doing?  There is nothing holding this saddle on but this pad.  Then I rode back down the mountain without a slip.  Incredible pad!
